Avoiding concrete

It is increasingly common to want to avoid the environmental and aesthetic consequences of sprayed concrete. Rockfall mesh and erosion protection can be combined with planting for a greener outcome.

Ecologist specified planting

We have commissioned ecologists to specify New Zealand native plants that are best suited to both stabilise slopes and also best survive in rockfall-mesh habitat. 

Better than 'hydroseed'

It is common to spray a thin layer of mulch and grass seed onto unstable ground. This may help temporarily protect from erosion but generally results in an area of dying grass. While the grass survives, it  can decrease moisture in dry conditions, then increase water infiltration in wet conditions; neither extreme is good for preventing erosion. We feel that our more sophisticated techniques, using native plants, are superior. 


If someone has suggested 'hydroseed', talk to us about proposing a NZ native alternative.
